The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) is proud to announce that it will be co-hosting a side event with the United Nations Population Fund at the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. This practical discussion will focus on ensuring access to justice for women and girls in Zambia and beyond.

The event, themed “Ensuring Access to Justice for Every Woman and Girl in Zambia, the Region and the Cross Border: The Road Travelled Towards Law and Institutional Reform,” will highlight Zambia’s progress in access to justice, legislative reforms, and improvements in preventive and post-GBV services.

The Gender Division, Non Governmental Organisation Coordinating Council and the Ministry of Justice are among other key stakeholders taking part in this unique side event.

Honourable Princess Kasune, the Minister of Justice, will grace the occasion focusing on legislative and institutional reforms, while Mrs. Chali Mbewe Hambayi, representing the NPA, will discuss criminal justice interventions in GBV case management as spearheaded by the NPA’s Gender Based Crimes Department.
